Data Science Volunteer
The Monitoring Evaluation and Learning team at the Fairtrade Foundation drives the generation, analysis and use of data, research-evidence and evaluation to monitor and understand our impact. The work of the MEL team enables the Foundation to prove and enhance our value to our partners and supporters, continuously learn, improve and innovate our model and keep ourselves accountable to our key stakeholders, the producers and the workers we aim to serve.
We are looking for a Data Science Volunteer to support the team on a project. The project objective is to analyse Household level survey data for selected Fairtrade cocoa co-operatives. Results from the analysis will be used by Fairtrade staff as part of a learning event with a key commercial partner alongside findings from other analysis and learnings from related projects. Activities include consolidating and aggregating data over 2 years of data collection, providing a direct comparison to the 2 years of data, and testing hypotheses of correlation between various indicators.
Ideally, we would like a volunteer to commit ~15 hours over a month for support on this short-term project. All work would be completed remotely, with regular support and guidance provided by the MEL team over video calls. This arrangement is not intended to be legally binding or to create a contract.
